πŸ•‰οΈ Happy International Yoga Day!

Dear Reader,

Today, on International Yoga Day, millions of people across the globe are rolling out their mats β€” and I want to invite you to something deeper than the poses.

Over 2,000 years ago, the sage Patanjali opened the Yoga Sutras with a single truth:

Yogah cittavrtti nirodhah.

Yoga is the stilling of the changing states of the mind

OR

Yoga is the complete settlement of the activity of the mind.

That's it. That's the whole practice.

Physical poses, self-care, ethical decisions, raised awareness, breathwork, meditations β€” are all the means that can lead to that settlement of the mind. The ultimate goal of yoga.

The Book of Patanjali taught that our minds are constantly affected by the 5 deviations of the mind β€” confusing the right knowledge, misconception, imagination, sleep, and memory β€” and that most of our suffering comes from confusing these patterns for the Truth of who we actually are. We forget the Seer behind the seeing. We become tangled in thoughts about ourselves instead of resting in the Self.

So today, I want to give you something.

A class from our Mastering the Thoughts series called "I Am Truth." It's an exploration of the mind's deviations β€” the stories, distortions, and noise that pull us away from presence β€” and a guided path back to stillness, back to yourself, back to truth.

Here's what to expect: We'll begin with 15 minutes of teaching, unpacking the yoga sutras on the deviations of the mind β€” straight from the source, made simple and real. From there, we'll move into 40 minutes of physical practice, letting the body translate what the mind just learned. And we'll close with a short meditation and journaling.

However you celebrate today β€” on your mat, in stillness, or simply by pausing to breathe β€” know that the deepest practice of yoga doesn't require a single pose. It just requires you, willing to meet yourself honestly.

Happy International Yoga Day. May your mind find its stillness.

With so much gratitude,

Anastassiya

Hi Reader! ✨ In quantum physics, an electron has two natures. A particle β€” electron's location at a certain point. And a cloud β€” a movement within a field. When physicists try to locate where the electron is, they discovered something that we still do not have a full explanation for: The act of looking in a certain direction within a cloud, increases the probability of finding the electron there. The attention of the observer directly affects the observed. This is called the collapse of the...

Good morning Reader! We've been talking about the signals your body reads β€” and the way those signals shape how you perceive life. Today: breath. 🌬️ Breath is the signal your body reads at the most rudimentary level. You can use it to rev yourself up with energy. Or to calm yourself down when the logical mind has shut off β€” in a panic attack onset, in emotional flooding, in any moment when your system has shifted into fight or flight. In that state, all energy flows away from your logical,...

Good morning Reader✨ I wanted to share this post I came across on Facebook this morning from Dr. Mark Hyman. Dr. Mark Hyman is a 15x New York Times bestselling author, family physician, and an international leader in Functional Medicine. He said: I had to share this with you because it lands right on top of where we are. Remember the first signal we looked at β€” thought? πŸ’ Your thoughts are not just thoughts. They are signals. And your body β€” down to the cellular level β€” is always listening....
